Mexico City, known for its rich history, culture and gastronomy, is famous for its nightlife.
When the sun goes down, the city comes alive with many options for those looking to enjoy a night out. From jazz bars to rooftops with incredible views and dance clubs, CDMX’s nightlife always has something for all tastes and styles.
While the party can be found in every corner of the city, the areas of the historic center, Polanco and the neighborhoods of Roma, Condesa and Juárez, are where you can find a large concentration of places to immerse yourself in the fun party nights of the Mexican capital.
Are you ready for a night of fun, dancing, good music and the best drinks? Here are some of the favorite places to enjoy party nights in Mexico City.
Nightclubs to Dance Until Dawn
If dancing until the sun comes up is your thing, you’ll be more than pleased with CDMX’s nightclub scene.
Salón Solín in the Roma neighborhood has been gaining ground as a favorite for dancing to the rhythm of both emerging and renowned DJs on the music scene. Club Colima, also in Roma, is known for its long DJ sets and great atmosphere until dawn. And, if you’re into the retro vibe but with music ranging from pop, electro and reggaeton, Montana Disco Retro Futura, in Colonia Juárez, is a speakeasy joint you’ll love.
Rooftops with Incredible Views
Every impressive city should have a good selection of rooftops to enjoy the views from the heights, accompanied by music and drinks.
Of course, in CDMX, there are plenty of rooftops. Still, without a doubt, some of the most impressive and that we recommend you to visit are Supra in the Roma neighborhood, Ling Ling on Paseo de la Reforma, Toledo Rooftop in the Juárez neighborhood and Terraza Cha Cha Chá in downtown (in front of the Revolution Monument).
Bars with The Best Cocktails
If you like cocktails and well-prepared drinks, there are bars in CDMX that have won international awards for their mixology.
Probably the most famous of these is Limantour in the Roma neighborhood, which has appeared several times on the list of The World’s 50 Best Bars (in 2022 it was named number 4!). Another place with great mixology is Hanky Panky, a speakeasy in Colonia Juárez. And in this same colonia, there is also Xaman, which has cocktails that combine exotic Mexican ingredients.
Mezcalerías
If you want to spend a night exploring one of the favorite traditional Mexican drinks in the city, you can’t miss a mezcalería (mezcal bar).
We have dedicated an entire article to the best mezcalerías in Mexico City, so we recommend you go and read it. For now, we mention that La Clandestina in the Roma neighborhood, and Bósforo and Mundana, both in the historic center, are great options for trying different types of mezcals in a cozy and fun atmosphere.
Jazz Bars
Finally, we want to mention the jazz bars if you want a night out with a touch of elegance and live music.
Zinco Jazz Club, in the heart of the historic center, is an icon of jazz music in the city. Parker & Lenox in Colonia Juárez is a super nice place with excellent jazz nights. And if you’re in the Roma neighborhood, Jazzatlán Capital has a bohemian atmosphere with good drinks and food.
Mexico City is a city that never sleeps and offers a fun, exciting and diverse nightlife. Whether you want to dance until dawn in a nightclub, enjoy panoramic views from a rooftop, sip delicious cocktails at a bar, explore the world of mezcal, or relax with live jazz music, CDMX has some fantastic options.
