Tips and Hacks to Have the Best Experience at EDC Mexico 2024
Transportation: Plan your route to the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in advance. Consider using public transportation or ridesharing services to avoid traffic and parking problems. Uber and Didi work perfectly in Mexico City.
The closest metro stations to the festival are: Velodromo, Ciudad Deportiva and Puebla (line 9 – brown color). Please note that the subway closes at 00:00 hrs (midnight).
The closest metrobus stations to the festival are: UPIICSA and El Rodeo (line 2 – purple color). The metrobus schedule is also until 00:00 hrs (midnight).
Also, there will be an official shuttle program to transport people back and forth for a cheaper cost than a cab or Uber. The meeting points to take the shuttles will be: Mundo E, Plaza Lindavista, Hipodromo de las Americas, Galerias Coapa, Perisur, Centro Comercial Santa Fe and Interlomas (in front of Mitsubishi). Visit the festival’s official website for detailed information.
Finally, if you decide to bring a car (although it is not recommended), the entrance to the general parking lot will be located at gate 15 of the Autodromo. Additionally, the parking lots of the Palacio de los Deportes (located across the street) will be open to the public.
Food: You cannot bring food into the festival, but inside the event you will find food and beverage stands (including beers), as well as vendors walking among the people.
Hydration: It is very important that you remain hydrated to stay energized throughout the festival. In addition to the drinks you can buy at the booths and from the vendors, you will find free water stations where you can refill your Insomniac bottle (which you can buy at the festival merch booth).
Note: You can’t bring your own water bottle, you have to buy one inside the festival and then you can refill it for free.
Money: The payment method inside the festival is through a cashless wristband, which you can obtain at any recharge area within the event premises.
You can add funds to your wristband using a debit card, credit card, or cash. If you don’t use all the money you’ve loaded onto your wristband, you can request a refund online. Here’s the link where you can find the form to request your refund.
Permitted and Prohibited Items: At all concerts and festivals there are prohibitions on what can be brought into the event. Here you can see the complete list of allowed and prohibited items at EDC Mexico 2024.
Security: Of course, it goes without saying that you should always be aware of your belongings and valuables. If needed, lockers will be available at the festival for safely storing your belongings.
Lodging: Finally, there are many options to stay in Mexico City, but without a doubt the best one to enjoy a young and festival atmosphere, even outside of EDC, is Hostel Barrio.
Our hostel is the coolest in the historic center of CDMX and is conveniently located near different metro and metrobus stations, making it easy for you to commute to the festival. If you prefer using Uber or Didi, we are just a 20-minute drive away from Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez.
